Luigi, also known as Pondhopper or L-Dog, is the taller and younger brother of Mario. He is friendly yet a little bit cowardly and is the boyfriend of Princess Daisy. It is shown that he envies Mario and at times he doesn't feel like people appreciate him. He appears regularly in Dorkly. While he may deny it, the Mushroom Kingdom relies on him, because he can save Mario and regulate ghost population.

He used to care a lot about Mario until Yoshi convinced him not to save him in Yoshi Chokes.

Despite being bossed around and mistreated, Luigi usually cares about his brother and would help him at any risk in a lot of Dorkly shorts. Though, in some shorts like The Roast of Mario, Luigi would stand up for himself and would stop taking anymore of Mario’s mistreatment towards him.

Status: Sibling rivalry

Trivia[]

  • Luigi has three (or was it four?) voice actors, he was voiced by Mike Parker, who also voices Tails. Parker was later replaced in 2012 by Caldwell Tanner, Brian K. Murphy, Patrick Cassels, and Alex Bernstein, both of which became his most well-known voice actors.
  • Like Mario, Luigi’s physical appearance changed from one video to the other. In his early appearances, he used his sprites from Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. and another sprite that looks similar to the DS game Super Princess Peach. However, his sprites in the modern videos (as well as his very first appearance) look like a combination of his sprites from Super Mario World and Super Mario All-Stars, but with a different head.
  • Luigi has many hobbies and beliefs
    • He plays Call of Duty.
    • He writes fanfiction.
    • He practices yoga.
    • He believes in witchcraft after Mario traveled back in time to 1985.
